My Answer to the Query “Do you Regret Helping People with Money?”
~ Tuesday, August 15, 2023 Blog Post ~
I find it heartwarming to read ordinary people’s willingness to give money as assistance. There are really magnanimous people who tread this planet. Even if they are neither millionaires nor billionaires, they are cheerful givers.
I have always affirmed that I am not the generous type. I have always been reluctant to give financial help to others. After all, I worked hard for that money, and as a tightfisted miser, it bothers me a lot to let go of it.
As a miser and frugal cost-cutter, I don’t like giving away free money. People asking for or borrowing money from me usually can earn it anyway. Additionally, I safeguard myself from financial abusers and financial predators.
If I give away money as help to someone, he has to give me something in return, such as a service or material reward. Being parsimonious offers many benefits.
Besides being able to save money, I will always relish that liberating feeling of freedom from financial worries, bouncing back or recovering fast from too many expenditures, and having all my monthly bills paid one month early, particularly the fixed expenses.
I know I’m not getting younger. In fact, sometimes I find myself asking, “What is all this money for?” since I opted not to marry, and I don’t have my own family. I also chose not to have children since I’m not really interested in them.
Well, I’ll use my money to travel wherever I want, eat what I want, do what I want, enjoy five-star hotel staycations more, make sure my health is constantly 100% OK and that I don’t get seriously ill, and so forth. Yes, I’ll enjoy my money a lot until I’m old. That’s why I’ll continue to save and invest my hard-earned funds, which are for my life’s enjoyment.
