Fleeced? Bilked? Life is easier and much better if you’re greedy.

As a highly financially literate adult, I believe life is so much easier and much better if a person is greedy. You can be generous, though it should not be all the time.
You have to think about securing your financial future which is your responsibility. I learned from my middle-class family’s experience.
When I was a grade school student, my parents were generous to our needy relatives, family friends, neighbors, and other people they were acquainted with.
However, “bad apples” financially abused my charitable parents. Some of them were leech relatives who were jealous of our family’s perpetual prosperity. They wanted to fleece my parents and bankrupt us. It was, indeed, a horrible experience which clearly explains my trust issues to this day.
Mommy and Daddy are well-educated people. Of course, they’re not stupid with their hard-earned money. Besides, they were laser-focused on providing myself and my older sister with the best and the brightest futures.
Nonetheless, it was my parents’ kindness that was the problem. Financial predators who were known to them as family and friends took advantage of their open-handedness.
My parents believe that if a person is compassionate and philanthropic, he will be more financially blessed. Luckily, our small middle-class family is financially secure. My parents are relishing their retirement and pensions, while my older sister and I are ultra-protective of our hard-earned financial stability.
Money is a scarce resource and a huge responsibility. I also adhere to the financial proverb that “a fool and his money are soon parted.”
Charity is a financial virtue I DO NOT adhere to. I believe it should neither be a duty nor an obligation.
Everyone is responsible in building their own financial futures. They can be financially successful, stable, and secure if they personally take responsibility in learning about money, working hard and earning, saving, and investing their hard-earned money.
Indeed, I do believe life is so much easier and much better if a person is greedy. At least he can have more opportunities to become wealthy and financially secure forever.
A greedy person who has achieved his financial goals can also always relish a good night’s sleep every evening with money being the least of his dilemmas.
