On Being a Valued Credit Cardholder [5 Images]

I’ve been using credit cards since 2006, two years after I graduated from university with the highest distinction. In 16 years, I have canceled some of the bank cards I had as I found them unnecessary. Besides, I dislike being bothered by monthly or annual membership charges.
Today, I use my 12 credit cards for convenience, and it is usually for my weekly groceries, occasional dining out, and monthly utility bills. Most of them do not charge membership fees, that is why I have chosen to keep them in my wallet.
I’m 100-percent proud to share in this blog post that I’m NEVER EVER a delinquent credit cardholder. I always make it a point to pay my credit card bills early — even one month early — to minimize my monthly tasks and things I need to think about. I learned this personal finance virtue from my well-educated parents.
They taught me to settle my credit card bills early or on time every month. After all, my personal finance-knowledgeable parents remarked that since I avail of products and services as a consumer, it is but right that I pay for these things.
Moreover, my equally financially savvy parents educated me about the comfort of having a good night’s sleep every evening while having zero debt worries. As a deadbeat credit cardholder, I ensure that I settle my bills in full to avoid interest, late, and finance charges. These fees are similar to leaks that drain a consumer’s finances.
Additionally, I gathered from my personal finance studies that any debt a person owes means his paycheck is not entirely his. After all, the money belongs to his creditors since he owes them these funds.
There is also a relevant quotation that “debt is slavery,” although in the practical world, people generally incur debt obligations and even get subjected to litigation and the debt collector’s office if they fail to settle the amount they owe on time, or this bad habit of theirs has been recurrent.
Anyway, this blog post contains three images of credit card-related quotations and two Instagram images of the book, “Debt: The First 5,000 Years” by David Graeber which I posted on my official account in the social media platform in September 2018. These photos are relevant to this blog topic about myself being a responsible, deadbeat credit cardholder.
Being a practical consumer, I’m not really into shopping for unnecessary items. I have underscored in this blog that I’m a frugal cost-cutter. As you can see, besides being financially savvy, I’m also absolutely financially disciplined.
I must remark that it’s certainly a relief to have my credit card bills paid in full every month. After all, there is minimal to zero credit card debt worries and financial stress for myself.
