Westlife Members’ Net Worth 2023
~ Tuesday, October 17, 2023 Blog Post ~
I’m just curious about the net worth of the Westlife members. I and my older sister are massive boyband fans and among the late 90s groups we love is Westlife. Indeed, this Irish singing sensation have delighted millennial fans like ourselves since their official debut in the international music scene in June 1998.
My older sister — who is currently a K-Pop and BTS Army like her Gen Z daughter — has a collection of Westlife CDs and DVDs. She purchased all their studio albums and are all in our house in the Philippines. Back then, YouTube was not mainstream yet. Thus, music fans like my sister and I would avail of CDs, DVDs, and VCDs to enjoy these boybands’ popular music.
As young millennials up to today, my older sister and I have adored Westlife for their English private schoolboyish or Prince William-ish looks (hahaha) and, of course, their soothing singing voices featured in their original songs and song covers.
Among my favorite Westlife songs include “Swear It Again” (which is their debut single I came across with on MTV Asia in 1999. I was a 15 years young high school student then always glued to the cable TV hahaha), “Fool Again,” “Uptown Girl,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” “My Love,” “I Lay My Love on You,” and all their other popular tunes.
I’m a subscriber of Westlife’s official YouTube Channel which has more than 4.96 million subscribers at the time of writing this blog post. Many of the music videos have raked in hundred millions in terms of viewer count and comments in the neighborhood of 100,000. Apparently, Westlife defined the millennial generation’s music.
Westlife also made me appreciate Ireland, including its dreary and old locales such as the capital Dublin and Westlife’s hometown Sligo. I understand the successful Irish entertainment export was a commercial success in many parts of Asia and the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, the Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Maroon 5, and other US boybands have dominated the cutthroat American music scene, making it quite a challenge for foreign artists to break through. Hence, Westlife found it hard to make it massive here.
Anyhow, I found this article published on The Daily Star regarding the Westlife members’ net worth. I can consider the estimates in this July 2023 article by the British tabloid as the latest figures. I just want to know how Westlife benefitted a lot financially from the international music business.
Based on the following The Daily Star article, the music industry has been a lucrative income source for Westlife, making them multi-millionaires. Their net worths indicated in the article are in pound sterling:
1. Kian Egan — £20 million
2. Brian McFadden — £14 million
3. Mark Feehily — £12.5 million
4. Nicky Byrne — Over £2.5 million
5. Shane Filan — £2.5 million

Westlife’s very different net worths — £20m fortune, huge debt and ‘foolish’ with wages (From The Daily Star)
By Hayley Coyle, July 3, 2023
As Westlife celebrate 25 years since forming in Dublin, with Louis Walsh at the helm, its five members have become major names — with major bank balances to match. Here’s the lowdown on who is worth what on this milestone day…
Westlife is celebrating a quarter of a century in the business!
On this day — June 3 — back 1998, Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan and Brian McFadden formed to create one of Ireland’s most successful exports.
When boybands got so big, fans fainted on the spot if they met her heroes.
The band were together until 2012 but reunited in 2018 and to date, has released 11 number-one albums and sold more than 55 million records.
All five of the lads have also had solo careers or ventures away from Westlife.
So 25 years after Louis Walsh determined their fate, we take a look at what they’ve been up to — and how much they’re worth!
Nicky Byrne
With such long careers and other media gigs such as TV and radio presenting all members of Wesltlife are millionaires and according to RSVP magazine, Nicky is worth just over £2.5 million.
After the band split Nicky, 43, has been busy with various hosting gigs including the Irish Dancing with the Stars, a Sundau show on 2fm, the National Lottery and Last Singer Standing.
He lives in “millionaire’s row” in Malahide, Dublin, with his wife Georgina Ahern and their three kids twins Jay and Rocco, 16, and Gia, nine.
Kian Egan
Kian is said to be the most loaded of the lads with a net worth of £20 million. That astounding amount comes after bandmate Nicky said that none of them were “absolutely minted”.
As well as his success in Westlife, Kian, 43, released a solo album in 2014 and was one of the four coaches on The Voice of Ireland.
He’s worked as a presenter on This Morning and also won I’m a Celebrity… in 2013.
Kian is married to former Hollyoaks actress Jodi Albert and the couple have three kids Koa, 11, Zeke, seven and Cobi, five.
They live in a sprawling oceanfront mansion in Sligo and he previously told the Irish Independent: “As I got older and we had children, I just really wanted to be part of a community and I wanted my children to feel like they’re part of a community because I travelled so much as a kid working that finding that place where you belong was a weird thing to me.”
Mark Feehily
Mark is said to be worth a cool £12.5 million and is one of the original members of Westlife’s previous band, Six As One, and the co-lead vocalist.
Of the five boys, Mark has probably had the most prolific solo career and has been the warm-up act for the likes of Mariah Carey and Wet Wet Wet.
Mark, 43, has also written songs for Emelie Sande and Ronan Keating.
He came out as gay in 2005 and is engaged to Cailean O’Neill — the pair have a daughter, Layla, who was born via surrogate in October 2019.
Shane Filan
While Shane is said to be worth about £2.5 million, the band previously admitted they were “foolish” with their money, dropping loads of cash on watches and cars in the early days.
And despite Shane’s three solo studio albums, his property ventures left him bankrupt.
In around 2012 his company, Shafin Developments, which he owned with his brother, owed nearly £20 million and was a victim of Ireland’s brutal recession.
Shane’s wife Gillian has also been declared bankrupt.
Gillian is the cousin of Kian Egan, making Shane and Kian relations by marriage. He and Gillian have three children, Nicole, 18, Patrick, 15, and Shane, 13.
Brian McFadden
Brian left Westlife in 2004 to pursue a solo career and thanks to both, is said to be worth about £14 million.
Like his bandmates, Brian has subsidised his music earnings with reality TV and presenting gigs. He did stints on Dancing on Ice, Stepping Out and Jump and was also a judge on Australia’s Got Talent from 2010 until 2012.
By 2016 Brian, 43, has joined Boyzlife — a combination of Westlife and Boyzone.
His first high-profile marriage was to Kerry Katona, with whom he has two daughters. He was then linked to Aussie singer Delta Goodrem and Irish model Vogue Williams.
He is currently in a relationship with PE teacher Danielle Parkinson and they have a daughter who was born in 2021.
