I have always wanted to find the time to read finance-related articles included in my collection of National Geographic magazines. My late grandmother, Zanita Ricarte, who was based in New York City, Pennsylvania, and later New Jersey, subscribed me to this educational publication from when I was in elementary school in the 1990s until the new millennium, 2000. She wanted her grandchildren to grow up well-informed and intelligent.
Today, I found the time to photograph one of the National Geographic issues with a money-related article titled “The Power of Money.” I also found other editions with money-related essays last year when I sorted my old bookshelf, but the January 1993 issue is what I am covering in this blog post.
From this National Geographic money-related article, I must say that money is more important than ever today 30 years following this
essay’s publication. Since change is permanent, money has also evolved.
We now have more than just the bills, coins, checques, debit cards, and credit cards which are conventional exchange modes. Today we have cryptocurrencies, digital currencies, and digital payment modes. Cash will always be king.
