I found this Facebook post from Becoming Minimalist. It is a list the blogger cites of the things today’s people should not feel impressed with anymore:

The blogger cited that we should no longer feel impressed with someone’s clothing brand, jewelry’s carats, car’s price, house’s square footage, bank account size, cellphone model, retirement age, and social media photos.

I agree. As a practical consumer, I am after the QUALITY of things, not their brands. I am a practical and frugal cost-cutter. What is important for me is my PEACE OF MIND, including my financial peace of mind. I do not want to be troubled by things I find UNNECESSARY IN MY LIFE.

Furthermore, I am not a show-off. Being a show-off these days will cost someone, especially if he is not really a superrich one-percenter. Haha.

I also want to point out that frugality is the wise use of money or financial resources. I don’t go shopping for clothes, accessories, and so forth anymore these days since I already got what I need. Besides my investments, I use money to pay for weekly and monthly bills only like groceries and utility charges.
