Since we only have five weeks left before we welcome the New Year 2024, I’ve been thinking about how I’ll begin the new financial year. I thought about the 12 things I’ll continue to do in my personal finance life.

New Year 2024 is a fresh financial page in my financial diary. As a staunch frugalist, I’ll definitely CONTINUE to:

  1. Be a frugal cost-cutter;
  2. Be mindful of where I spend my hard-earned money;
  3. Save more of my hard-earned money;
  4. Study, discover, and invest more in many other high-yield investment vehicles;
  5. Avoid dining out and ordering fast food;
  6. Avoid shopping, except, of course, grocery or food shopping;
  7. Sell white elephants and junk items in my house;
  8. Find the time to read (a) My personal finance books; (b) The “Moneybility” e-book; (c) My Instagram account; (d) “The Mathematics of Money” book by Timothy Biehler; (e) My old journals with money notes; (f) The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, and MarketWatch latest and saved articles on my smartphone; and (g) the personal finance and finance-related articles I sent to my e-mail inbox;
  9. Write and blog about money;
  10. Find ways to have the alternative investment items in my house, such as the stamps, old and rare coins, old banknotes, baseball cards, Barbie dolls, and so on, auctioned off;
  11. Pay my credit card bills in advance to continue dodging finance charges and late payment fees and continue to get credit limit increases; and
  12. Stay healthy to avoid medical bills.

I have many other personal finance plans besides these 12 activities. As always, my personal finance target has always been to maintain my financial stability and security for the long-term.

Hence, I will just have to carry on with the effective steps I have been doing since they have helped me achieve success, personal finance-wise. Most of these effective personal finance measures are on the list above and I have been doing them for over a decade already, except number 11.

It’s about time I do this step by 2024, hopefully, if I find the time and the way to auction off the abovementioned alternative investment items sitting in my house.

I can’t say I’m excited and very much looking forward to 2024, which is a leap year. After all, it is just another 366 days. But, yes, 2024 is an opportunity to accomplish more goals — financial, health, career, personal, and so forth. So, OK, I’m looking forward to 2024 with sunny optimism. Haha.

Again, I want to save more funds this 2024 similar to the previous years. I’m financially savvy and very smart with my hard-earned money. Therefore, yes, I surely believe I can achieve my new savings project or financial target this New Financial Year 2024 just like before.
