My View on “Why Do Some Filipinos Have a Hard Time Saving Money?” (From Quora.com) [10 Images]

Sometime last year, I shared my opinion on Quora.com for the query “Why do some Filipinos have a hard time saving money?” I remarked:

It is a common problem for Filipinos not to be able to save some of their hard-earned money and own a bank account under their name. One major cause is low wage. This reality makes the people live from paycheck to paycheck. Additionally, poor health drains people’s money. Hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol levels, and the likes cause Filipinos to spend their money mostly on maintenance medicines and medical treatments and nothing gets left. The solution? Sound financial education. It should be a component of school and college curricula.
