Just Joking about Money on Quora.com
~ Saturday, October 1, 2022 Blog Post ~
Sometime in 2018, I believe I was idle when I answered the following Quora.com question and I was just fooling around for sure. Hahaha:
Quora: If you had to choose a way to spend every dollar you had, what would you do?
Me: Just let your idle funds sleep in the bank. I actually have the same concern. I have an endless supply of money but I don’t know what to do with it. I honestly don’t have any plans. Thus, I just let my wealth sleep in the bank and to continue skyrocketing through my investments.
As a millennial, I just want more money stashed in my bank account. However, I honestly don’t have any plans on what to do with lots of it. And I absolutely don’t want to share it ! I must admit I am EXTREMELY GREEDY AND AVARICIOUS. Haha
I am not into FOMO things. Furthermore, I don’t want a new home, a vacation home, a new car, travels, endless partying, conspicuous shopping and spending (obsolete lifestyles), Starbucks, flippant socializing, selfies, Facebook, too much media and social media consumption — — I am neither into these. I am just indifferent to them. A princess lifestyle — — sure, I like it. But maybe I am just too practical.
I honestly want NOTHING. I just want more money for no reason and no plans at all. Perhaps I am just a huge fan of the quotation, “Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants” by Greek sage, Epictetus.
Or maybe I am like the Businessman in “The Little Prince” (Chapter 13: The Businessman). He just loved and enjoyed counting and owning the stars, but clueless on why he likes them. I am just like him. I like counting the “stars” which I “own” and put “in a drawer and lock with a key.” But when asked why, I don’t have any specific reasons and I honestly don’t have any plans.
Is this considered an embarrassment of riches?
