I’ve Had Many “No Spend Weekdays” Lately. / Don’t Spend. / Huwag kang gumastos. (Tagalog)
~ Saturday, December 9, 2023 Blog Post ~
There is barely a month before 2023 draws to a close. I just want to congratulate myself for succeeding in avoiding ordering fast food from food delivery platforms. I really don’t miss the taste of fast food.
I also like the fact that I get to avoid spending unnecessarily lately since I don’t order fast food anymore from food delivery platforms. I’ve had many “No Spend Days” lately and I’m so very ecstatic about it. Each week, I just consume the supermarket-bought foods. Luckily, I am continuously losing appetite for restaurant food and fast food.
By all means, I’ll continue to concentrate more on healthy eating. I’ll do my very best to to avoid sweet and salty foods. To further discourage myself from consuming unhealthy foods, I label them. For example, rice and sweets are diabetes, chips is urinary tract infection, and fast food is high bad cholesterol.
I’m just so very glad I’ve had many “No Spend Days” lately, or “No Spend Weekdays.” I get to preserve cash and maintain my financial comfort. I also told myself “Huwag kang gumastos,” which is Tagalog for “Don’t spend.” Every day is all about mindful spending for me. I’ll only eat out with friends or family members, but on regular days, it’s all about consuming what’s in the fridge and the pantry for me.
This Christmas season, I’m not purchasing anything for myself. I really don’t want anything. Besides, I already got the 2024 Starbucks planner, which is all that I want.
I just want to have more time to read the Wall Street Journal, MarketWatch, and Barron’s articles I saved. I also want to have more time for sleep and walk long distances more often. I wish to have the time to watch all the movies I saved on my Netflix ‘My List.’ These are the Christmas presents I want for myself.
As 2023 draws to a close, these are what’s certain for me: I really hate overspending and mindless spending. Moreover, I don’t like wasting money on fast food. I hate getting sick and spending money on medical bills.
Thus, for me, it’s all about mindful spending, healthy eating and eating the supermarket-bought foods for the week, and staying healthy.
