As I scrolled through my Twitter account, inflation and recession reports filled my social media account’s news feed. I understand the working middle class feel panicked as they and the working poor are the hardest hit by the economic crisis.
During these high inflation times and a global recession looming not just Stateside, I recommend people to just spend their money on food and utility bills.
Gas prices carry on skyrocketing. I also understand we are moving away from the conventional 9-to-5, office-based work arrangements. Thus, I recommend getting a homebased job.
I think people should also avoid fast food as a cost-cutting measure. Fine dining and eating out were my favorite pleasures. However, I realized they are not worth it and I have kept in mind Benjamin Franklin’s quotation about the wise use of money.
According to the notable American statesman, “Beware of little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship.”
Benjamin Franklin’s financial wisdom is among my favorite money rules to live by. Although he lived in the 1700s, some of his financial golden nuggets still apply in today’s high inflation times.
