I like reading bank brochures.
I like reading bank brochures. These are the promotional or marketing materials a bank uses to sell their financial products and services to their clients, such as savings accounts, children’s savings accounts, insurance policies, investment plans, and so forth.
I like to spend my time reading these advertising materials while on a long queue or waiting to speak to my bank relationship manager. Bank fliers tell about personal finance ideals and how to achieve various financial goals like financial peace of mind for the long term, helping one’s child save for college, and staying financially protected during emergencies, among many others.
I usually extract the sentences and phrases I like from these financially educational marketing materials. While taking note of these statements, I paraphrase and apply them to myself.
Here are the exact sentences and phrases I like from some of the bank brochures I read in the past and recently:
1. Save for today. Plan for tomorrow.
2. When we save, their future is safe. (This bank brochure is selling a children’s savers plan).
3. Save regularly for your child’s future.
4. This savings plan automatically transfers money from your account to your child’s account.
5. Schedule regular deposits to your child’s account.
6. Make sure your account is funded and watch your child’s savings grow!
7. Help your child reach their dreams.
8. Peace of mind is my greatest asset, that is why I make sure my lifetime needs are well taken care of.
9. a one-time pay, investment-linked insurance plan that gives a lifetime of greater peace of mind
10. Pay once and leave your worries behind.
11. Live more for today and still have enough for what’s ahead.
12. Give yourself additional financial security.
13. Continue building your wealth by making additional payments.
These statements or parts of them certainly look great for aggressive savers and personal finance nerds like myself. Bank marketing materials tell us that we can achieve long-term financial peace of mind, but of course, for a price. That’s fine though since banks and financial institutions are for-profit businesses selling different financial offerings.
Anyway, reading bank brochures is a financially enriching hobby I have got, in which I get to benefit considerably by learning more, personal finance-wise, among many others. It’s a productive way to spend my very precious time.
