I had the time to review my files yesterday and I found my old clippings of bank advertisements. These banks are based in the Philippines and I’m a client of some of them.

I like how well-written these bank advertisements are, with marketing teams presenting the financial institutions’ various offerings, such as
their savings and investment products.

Moreover, I noticed that Philippine advertisements can be emotionally charged, pulling consumers’ heartstrings, compared to those here in the United States and elsewhere which are usually written objectively and merely presenting the banks’ offerings as they are. Haha.

Anyway, I realized that it has been my habit to keep old clippings of banking news and advertisements. I’m, indeed, a certified econo-geek-nerd. Haha. Well, my equally well-educated and financially intelligent parents peruse Philippine broadsheets such as The Philippine Star and the Manila Bulletin when they are in the Philippines and I was able to benefit from this financially educational habit of theirs.

Keeping old clippings of banking news and marketing information has helped me grow my knowledge in banking and finance and has aided me in becoming a super-financially savvy bank client. This useful personal finance practice also complements my other enriching habit of reading bank brochures when I have free time and while on queue or waiting in the bank.

As for the Philippine banks that I like, I like the Bank of the Philippine Islands or BPI the most, which is one of the Philippines’ leading financial service providers. I’ve been a client of this bank since 2008 and I like how professional BPI staff members are.

I’ve been provided with a dependable relationship manager by BPI who keeps me updated with the best interest rates in the market and the bank’s latest credit card promotions, stock market offerings, and savings, long-term investment, and bond offerings.

Above all, I love how BPI keeps my hard-earned funds and investments in the Philippines ultra-secure, helping me secure my financial future and keep it progressive. I must say my Philippine banks aid me in having a financially progressive and secure future which is my sole goal and focus for the rest of my life.

Below are four images of old bank advertisements I found in my files yesterday. For beginner savers and investors, I think it’s financially educational to go over them.

(1) A Bank of the Philippine Islands advertisement in The Philippine Star, March 9, 2010
(2) A Bank of China advertisement in the Manila Bulletin, February 9, 2005
(3) A Metrobank Metrodollar Asian Bond Fund advertisement in the Manila Bulletin, February 9, 2005
(4) A Philippine Bureau of the Treasury Multicurrency Retail Treasury Bonds advertisement in The Philippine Star, April 23, 2010
