I’m really financially responsible and so very proud of myself. I love the feeling of getting all my monthly credit card bills settled on time, if not early. Well, who’s a middle-class person who doesn’t? Credit card balances are money that belongs to the lenders and not me. Hence, they certainly need to get paid.

A particular line from John Mayer’s song “This Will All Make Perfect Sense Someday” suddenly plays in my head. It goes, “All my bills have all gotten paid.” There’s another money-related line in this tune, which goes, “I broke the bank,” yet it is certainly irrelevant in this blog post, and most definitely, in my personal finance life.

Anyhow, yes, I like this specific line in John Mayer’s song — “All my bills have all gotten paid.” The track’s rhythm and message are also pacifying, and they’re another of the reasons I like it.

There are plenty of songs about bills getting paid like Ne-Yo’s “Miss Independent.” The line in this tune goes, “And her bills are paid on time.” But I don’t really like this track since it alludes to girls. At this point, I’m just so very tired of anything girly, feminine, and “girl power” things.
